If only West Market businesses got some love; those businesses are all on East Market. Still, it was a nice article.

Maybe if West Market business came up with some stupid new marketing name like that NuLu crap maybe then they can be oh so relevant.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

And my absolute lack of any sense of direction ( and spelling it seems) strikes again.

Yes, I know we all love to hate that NuLu thing. But, it doesn't seem to be hurting. How many new locally owned restaurants have opened in the hated NuLu in the last 8 months?

I think they would have opened no matter what the area was named. And if it was named something sensible say related to the area (East Market) the naming may have even been more of a help. The biggest incentive to them opening in that area was the availability of suitable reasonably priced locations.

Those restaurants could have opened on Frankfort, Bardstown Rd. or in Germantown, but they didn't. The number of new restaurants in a 5 block area exceeds any other "cluster" in the city as far as I can tell. And the silly name didn't stop that from happening.

You're right as I mentioned above the name didn't stop it from happening. On the other hand I don't think it encouraged it to happen either. It was just the right place at the right time at the right price. Most of the other areas you mentioned do not have the available buildings and property is much more expensive to acquire.
