It's above average for a casual Italian chain, but I haven't been blown away by it. I'd get my pizza at Hero's or Luigi's (or Primo!) and my red-sauce Italian at Melillo's.

No, it no uncertain terms. Their pizza is blah and boring. I wouldn't waste my time with it.

It's ok at best. We stood in the entrance for 5 minutes, waiting to be seated. (Which is a challenge with a 17 month old)

We ate there about a month ago and I can't remember anything specific about the meal...which isn't a good sign.

It's not the best, but the servers are very nice. It's definitely kid-friendly and convenient.

If I'm right there shopping I'll eat it. I'm not going out of my way for it though.

Agreed on the "decent if convenient" feeling.

We like the place, I went there with my kids and grandkids and had a campfire pizza, it was very good and the kids liked the stuff they got calzones of various sorts, service was great, prices were reasonable.

GG.

We ate there about a month ago. I would not go back, pizza was undercooked, salad was filled w/ brown edged lettuce. The service was friendly, but there were too many negatives to try again.

I went there with my parents a couple of months ago. The pizza and calzones were decent. I ordered the fett. chicken alfredo. The sauce was so-so and the chicken was boiled or something which kind of turned me off. The service was fine, nothing to write home about though. The server brought me just fett. alfredo to begin with and the manager ended up bringing out my boiled chicken and gave us a $10 giftcard that we could use that night. I wouldn't go back, but I wouldn't discourage others from at least trying it.

It reminds me a lot of The Italian Oven if you can remember that far back.

They are very good at being exactly what they want to be. Decent food at fair prices in a VERY kid friendly environment.

Was the Italian Oven the place over on Breckinridge or the place on the corner of the shopping center where Circuit City is in St. Matthews?

Wasn't there one in Douglass Loop? I used to like them, and probably still have a menu. (I keep menus) But didn't they also have a wood-burning oven?

There was one in the location that now houses Q'doba on Breckenridge Lane AND one in the Douglass Loop.

I did read somewhere that the chain is making a comeback.
