Anoosh Shariat and Paula Barmore, co-owners of Browning’s Brewery & Restaurant located at 401 E. Main Street, are excited to announce that new owners will be taking over the business in July. The new owners, Adam Watson, Jerry Gnagy, Samuel Cruz and Adam Ott, will rename the business located in Louisville Slugger Field “Against The Grain Brewery and Smokehouse.”
“They are very excited about brewing beer and have big plans for the site,” said Barmore. “This is a great opportunity for them. They are beer brewers and are enthused to a part of the Louisville brewing community. They are great guys.”
Shariat and Barmore have owned the business since April 2009. Browning’s, along with Park Place on Main, had been closed since October 2008.
They have enjoyed being a part of the rejuvenation of the Main Street corridor. “It has been an exciting seeing all the businesses open and thrive. The area has boomed especially since the opening of the area. We have loved being a part of it,” said Barmore.
“Thank you to all of our guests, employees, the Bats organization and our families and friends for their support for the last two years. As this chapter of our lives is closing, a new one will begin,” said Shariat.
Although Shariat has no definitive plans he will to be available for caterings and will continue to play a part in the local charitable community, just as he has done in the past.
“We wish the new guys nothing but the best and we are looking forward to the positive impact they will have on the local beer community.” Brownings will continue to operate until mid July.
