Sunday Night Dinner

by Robin F. » Tue Jun 28, 2011 4:00 pm

We'll be taking my best friend and her husband out to dinner on Sunday (7/3) for her 50th birthday. Where to go? I need help, he is always on a diet and this time it sounds like South Beach (meat, veggies no starches, etc.) and she is in no way a foodie. We, on the other hand, are foodies

Any suggestions as to who is open, serves various meats (he mainly eats chicken and beef), and would be nice for a birthday dinner?

Maybe something that does small plates like Mojitos would work. Lot's of options to meet specific dietary needs or desires.

North End cafe would be a good choice: http://www.northendcafe.com/

Do NOT recommend Hillbilly Tea; while the food is very good, the proteins are small portions, and without starches the dishes lack substance.

Since it's an occasion, try Eddie Merlot's - steak & veggies for him, plain food for her, interesting combo's for the rest of you. Otherwise, any "A" list restaurant works very well! (and, North End can put together a perfect meal also.

If Palermo is open on Sundays, I would recommend going there. MEAT! :D

Thanks all! We're going with North End.

Dan - Palermo was my first choice but sadly they are closed on Sundays.
