by Robin Garr » Sun Jun 26, 2011 3:45 pm

I'll be a judge, along with a BBC guy and the CJ guy.

See y'all there, maybe! I wonder how crowded it will be. Mary is up in the air about whether to go or not ... she gets a freebie due to being a judge's partner, but is torn between great free eats and fighting a mob scene.

I went with a very handsome BBC guy. I was apprehensive about the crowd at first, but the event had a nice flow between three floors and multiple rooms. I liked the idea that every one had a punch card. It prevented the super long lines that happen when there is a stand-out booth. (Not that I didnt want to go back and gorge myself on a few items!!) Great time for a great place!

Here are the final results from Taste of Frankfort Avenue. I find it intriguing that the other judges, working independently, apparently chose the same winning dishes as I did. The final Judges' picks coincide exactly with my individual choices.

Judges' picks:
Appetizer: Majid's
Entree: Bourbon's Bistro
Dessert/Beverage: Comfy Cow

People's Choice: Porcini

I had a great time again this year and was lucky enough to be that BBC guy who got to judge food with Robin and company. There was a most amazing treat of a band that played for the finale. Grupo Fantasma an 11 piece band playing some fantastic Cuban Jazz via Texas. The food was amazing and choosing First place was exremely tough. There were a lot of just great foods to taste.

I was wondering if the handsome guy would show up here. See you Friday?

Sorry our paths didn't cross, Joel. I thought I caught a glimpse of Marty across a room but wasn't sure, so basically worked alone. Funny our final judgements were so close, given that we didn't confer.
