MOZZeria!

by Mark R. » Sat Jun 25, 2011 12:52 pm

The owners of MOZZ are proposing opening a new restaurant in the east end in the Landis Lakes development. The name of it is tentatively called MOZZeria, it will have a wood fired oven, fresh made mozzarella, etc. Here's the article from InsiderLouisville: MOZZeria

We were at Wild Eggs out that way today and the only available place I can see available that's large enough is right next door to them! Certainly would be convenient for you.

Yes, it would be convenient for m3, Mark. That's why I was doing the little/big dance!

I think the Landlord wants to fill the end space (former gourmet shop) with them... plus it would (possibly) allow for some outdoor seating.

Unless there is space next door I don't believe the space that was the gourmet shop is anywhere near this size (7000sqft) discussed in the original article (Deb correct me if I'm wrong). I agree it's a nice location with more visibility but I don't think it's large enough for this use.

Yes it was "Gourmet for You" which was Deb's shop.

Sorry... I wasn't very clear - gourmet space plus some empty space next door to get to 7K ft.

Seeing that they are cutting back at the Market St. location and raising their prices, they might want to re-think going into Eastern KY.

On the other hand, I wonder if the Lake Forest demographic might be ideally suited to their fawning service/valet parking style. (I DO think highly of their food.)

Sort of reminds me of Dallas in a way.

I'm guessing this idea has been tabled, at least for the Landis Lake location. When I drove through that strip mall yesterday, I noticed the windows featured "NOW LEASING" signs. :(

All,

Yes, the space at the end was our space for Gourmet For Everyone. Our space was only 2800 sq ft plus there is an extra 500 square foot unfinished space. Doesn't mean they couldn't move one of the other tenants to expand the space ( that gets done all the time). Landlord has always really wanted a restaurant to go into that shopping center. Original design called for one or two restaurants to go into the green space in the middle ( where the the plant/Xmas trees go now), but they couldn't get anyone to bite.

The Insider Louisville article was from June and said they'd be opening this November- sorry Gayle, doesn't look too promising...

I've been wondering about that. We go by there a couple times a week and recently their windows have been covered with advertising for specials! Not quite what you would expect for a restaurant of that caliber. Makes me think they must be having some problems.

Mark - are you talking about MOZZ downtown? I didn't think MOZZeria ever opened.
