Marie, I was driving past there in the last few days and it didn't look promising. For Lease sign in the window, dark and no sign of activity inside.

Went by yesterday and people where inside doing work, they have painted exterior blue. Not sure what, if anything, is going in.

Saw some guys in ties coming out of there a couple days ago with folders and clipboards. That is not a very useful piece of information, but it's perhaps a sign of some action.

I haven't had a chance to peak in yet, but the owners have been hard at work and have come over here for some treats to keep them going. I will try to find out more when I get a chance and let you know.

D'oh! I remember that now! I swear the For Lease sign was up and it looked dark within the past couple of weeks, though ...

There's a rumor going round that it's a nurse doctor theme bar. I never catch anyone out there to get the facts, but I hope that's not the case! And Gil holland is very excited about revamping the fire house across the street too! Sigh...I need off street parking badly before pope becomes even more clogged!

Why do I think a bunch of people were sitting around late one night, drinking unimaginable amounts of alcohol before coming up with this theme?

I popped my head in the other day when I was walking and the lady inside said it was going to be a night club/bar... It will be called "Recovery Room" or something like that... I was hoping for a restaurant!!
Larry Rice's place is going to be across the street in the old Firehouse.

My favorite theme at a bar is "beer." Anything else seems unnecessary.

I think they are trying to open this weekend.

The Recovery Room will indeed have a hospital theme. They will be serving food, but it sounds like typical far fare. However, the menu will also be themed, with the appetizers listed as "Pre-op," desserts as "Rehab," etc...

I am curious to see how that all works out. And the folks opening the place are very sweet. I'm looking forward to having a neighbor again!

Truer words have never been spoken. Unless we include Bourbon as well....
