In the Eastern/I-65 area as well.

Made me check the satellite. Seems clear to me.

According to Facebook, WAVE-3's Brian Goode says someone at MetroSafe accidentally pulled the trigger. Kind of a "What does this button do" situation, I guess.

I wonder if the CJ will be all over them like they were when the sirens didn't go off county-wide that time a tornado was spotted in Harrods Creek headed east. I noticed the fire chief of Fairdale was all worked up over that ... I wondered if he knows where Harrods Creek is.

So the sirens don't go off when there are tornadoes or when chemical plants explode, but they do go off for no reason in the middle of a clear day. Real nice system we got here.

Not directed specifically at Jeff's reply...Before people get too carried away the people at Metro-Safe work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year...year after year. Thousands of people are safe and alive because of the job they do. I'm willing to give them a "pass" on occasion for not being perfect.

I'm sure that's probably true, Steve. Unfortunately for them, their job is like a lot of behind-the-scenes workers: the only time people notice you is when you mess up.

That's just what I was thinking, they only are noticed when they screw up! From what I have read that not going off for the tornados was a system problem and for the chemical problem nobody requested them to be sounded so those at least directly are not their problem. However if what Robin posted is correct this one is clearly in their court! We were out at this Summit and heard them also, we were switching radio stations and looking around to see what was happening and found nothing! I won't be too hard on them but they certainly did make a mistake in this case.

Over at Casa Redwinger, I've never heard the sirens emit a false alarm. Then again, I live so far out in the hills, I've never heard a warning siren.

Hmmm...??....was this the suspected tornado #1 in late March before the first flood that snapped all the Princess' lines and pushed her down Harrods Creek, or is the suspected tornado #2 between floods that ripped off a Cottonwood branch and shattered the pilot house of the Princess ?

....been a "hell" of a Spring.... :(

Alan, I didn't mean to minimize the bad news for you guys, but my point is that turning on the whole county's sirens for a tornado clearly isolated in the far northeast end and headed east sounds to me like the RIGHT thing to do. Now, I'm not saying they shouldn't have warned you and your neighbors, but surely they've got the technology to narrow that thing down.

You did not sir, totally taken out of text...!

We are a resilient group, a couple of little wind storms and high water is to be expected on the river.
Sure as hell didn't help my bourbon intake though
