by Robin Garr » Wed Mar 14, 2007 5:40 pm

Avalon restaurant will host a tasting of wines from Honig Winery in Napa Valley on Thursday, March 29, with the winery's Elaine Honig on hand to discuss the wines served: Honig 2006 Sauvignon Blanc 2006, Honig 2004 Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc, Honig 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon and Honig 2003 Bartolucci Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. After the program, these wines will also be available by the glass in limited quantities at Avalon's bar.

Guests may choose between two of chef Chip Lawrence's appetizers: duck confit spring rolls with ginger-sesame slaw and spicy mustard or Avalon calamari served with kalamata olives, pepperoncini, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic and lemon vinaigrette.

The tasting and an appetizer are $25 a person, not including tax and gratuity. Seating is limited. To make a reservation contact Larry Watson at 454-5336.

The event celebrates Women's History Month, Avalon owner Steve Clements said in a news release.
