Java to VINT

by Ward Wilson » Thu Jun 16, 2011 4:40 pm

I just saw a flyer at the Old Brownsboro Rd Java Brewing that says hey will become VINT on 6/20/2011. The barisata said same owners, better coffee and wine, etc. The note says that VINT is more than a coffeehouse, it's a next-generation café where patrons chat over .. food .. and beverages.
The web site VINTcoffee.com has little info. Anyone know if it's a chain from out of town?

It's a chain, but not from out of town. Java is splitting between its two owners, one of whom is John Schnatter's brother. Schnatter takes five properties into VINT, which will have more of an upscale feel (cross Java with Panera? Dunno), while the Java Brewing properties will stay pretty much the same. I believe the division is somewhat geographical, with most of the VINT properties on the east side.

Here's an article on the subject that was posted on Insider Louisville: java-brewing-to-become-vint-coffee and another one posted on Consuming Louisville: some-java-brewing-company-locations-to-become-vint
