Australia Meets Italy Wine Dinner at Volare
Volare Chef Josh Moore will create a five-course menu to be paired with Australian wines from d"Arenberg, Innocent Bystander and John Duval on Tuesday, June 21, at 6 p.m. Dinner is $65 plus tax and gratuity. For reservations, call 894-4446.

Australia meets Italy wine dinner

Passed Hors D'oeuvres

Bruschetta- grilled Italian bread topped with sweet cherry peppers, feta cheese, and basil with balsamic reduction

Oliva Fritto- jumbo green olives stuffed with spicy Italian sausage and pan fried golden with salsa agro dolce

Crostini- shaved beef tenderloin with micro greens and horseradish

Wine: 2010 Frisk Prickly Riesling (Victoria)

Salad

Lattuga Speziato- baby cress, goat cheese, hazelnuts, and rock shrimp crudo with creamy shallot and dijon vinaigrette

Wine: 2009 d'Arenberg "The Hermit Crab" Viognier-Marsanne (Adelaide)

Pasta Course

Penne alla Agnello- roasted lamb shank, eggplant, tomatoes, red wine and fresh mint with penne pasta

Wine: 2008 d'Arenberg "The Love Grass" Shiraz (McLaren Vale)

Main Course

Bistecca alla Gorgonzola- 12 oz grilled ny strip steak finished with fresh thyme and gorgonzola compound butter

2007 John Duval "Plexus" Shiraz/Grenache/Mourvedre (Barossa Valley)

Dessert

Torta di Formaggio - creamy citrus cheesecake with Chef Moore's farm blueberries, gingersnap crust and roasted pear puree

Wine: 2010 Innocent Bystander Moscato (Victoria)
