Cici's?

by Jenny H » Mon Jun 13, 2011 10:51 pm

Anyone know anything about Cici's Pizza? Went by there tonight since my kids like to eat there and the doors were locked with no sign or anything. Is it closed down or are they doing some work or something?

Is that the one in New Albany? I haven't heard anything, but let's see if anyone else has info.

Oops, thanks! The one in New Albany was the first CiCis in the area, I think, so my mind always goes there.

The one on Bardstown road by the Watterson has been closed for awhile... I'd assume it's permanently closed.

The only Cici's I was ever familiar with, was on Dixie, toward the end of Valley Station. I worked at a Nat'l City Bank across the street from a shopping center that had a Cici's, and used to go in once a week or so. I would be surprised if they closed.

Isn't there one in the McMahan Plaza- the same shopping center with Kroger and Little India?

There is one in the McMahon shopping center near Kroger where Taylorsville/Hikes/Breckenridge all come together.

Anyways, I live in the neighborhood and walk right by it on a daily basis, and both times I've walked by there in the last couple days they have either been: Loading items (booths at the time) into a Budget rental truck and unopened when I went by at 7 pm today (Truck and the door they were loading out of were both wide open). I have to assume it is definitely closed on a temporary (maybe remodel?) or permanent basis. I did not see any sign on the door, but I also didn't look that closely.

There's not actually a rule against it,but since the original poster says her kids like to eat there, it might not be really gracious ... :?

It's my nephew's favorite place in the world.

True story - we took him and his sister to the Tea with Santa and Teddy at the Brown at Christmas time. Teddy terrified him and he was not a fan of the food, and ended up in the hallway crying and pitifully asking when we were taking him to Cici's.

I hope for his sake that there are other Cici's in the area for him to patronize.

Good point. I withdraw it. I don't have kids yet, so I acknowledge that skews my perspective somewhat.

just because kids arent old enough to know better doesnt mean we cant rejoice when this slophouse closes down.

I liked a lot of crap when I was a kid as well.

True, but why hurt Mom's feelings, you know? It's not like any of us have to eat there.
