Breakfast Sandwich Suggestions

by Will Terry » Sun Jun 12, 2011 10:16 am

I'm looking for a place (St. Matthews preferably) where I can get a breakfast sandwich quickly and easily.

Chik-Fil-A's breakfast is good, but closed on Sunday's
Wild Eggs isn't quick (or cheap)
Dooley's had a decent breakfast burrito, but has since closed.
Shady Lane makes a wonderful breakfast, but I don't believe they have a breakfast sandwich and I think they are closed on Sundays
Panera is in the vein of what I'm looking for, but makes a mediocre breakfast sandwich.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Wendys i pretty good... I enjoyed their potatoes alot as well... The 99 cent burrito was a disappointment, but I shouldn't have expected much (it's clearly a rewarmed frozen item).

I'd love to find a good local spot for breakfast/coffee, but might have to settle for something like Wendy's

Sometimes when I'm running late I run through the Wendy's drive thru and get their "artisan egg sandwich with bacon". I actually really like it and for $4ish for the combo (I get fruit and an OJ) it's a good deal. Better than McDonalds, and I don't feel like I've sucked on a grease trap for the next couple hours.

Wendys morning melt panini is pretty good when executed properly. Like a very filling grilled cheese-putting sliced tomato on a hot breakfast sandwich is pretty bold. I also like Paneras sandwich due to the real cheese that they use. I like mcdonalds regular coffee, but nothing on their menu actually tastes the way it should.

We (Heine Brothers' Coffee) have two shops in St. Matthews, and a few different breakfast panini from Lotsa Pasta that we can grill in about 5 minutes. We have coffee too, of course, if that's something you are looking for :D

I wish I had thought of that. I can testify that the Lotsa Pasta breakfast panini at Heine's are excellent. And it's quality fare from a pair of local companies.

I live walking distance from Heine Brothers... it had never occoured to me to get a sandwich there (though I haven't been in for coffee either!).

I will stop by Saturday morning and get some breakfast (and coffee).

You could call in an order to Meridian.

Not a bad idea. I like Meridian, we've only dined in there, though.

Good call. The breakfast wrap is enough for breakfast AND lunch!
