So you all know Gayle DeM, right? Do you know of her love affair with Dallas McGarity's food? I have had the pleasure of getting well acquainted with it (her love affair) over the past few months, and I am now in love with it as well. Even better, we get to eat it in the ethereal setting of TSM and be catered to by heaven-sent professionals and festooned with foodie love.
We dined there again tonight, praise Jesus. Gayle had the insider information personally sent to her that they were getting Cobia in for specials. She called, she booked, we went. Good call, Miss Gayle, this fish was nice when we had it there two months ago, it' was nice again. It's firm and succulent, mild but... herbal, or woody/earthy (?). I don't know - it reminds of something that I can't put my finger on, but it's a special sea angel for sure. It was served with a boat load of the best gnocchi I've ever tasted, white beans, wilted greens, radishes, and a radish vinaigrette with a grapefruit color - outstanding radish distinction, sweet and tangy. I would think wine enthusiasts with have a parade over this dish.
And because I was with Gayle, I had the privilege of receiving a "bite" - a ten dollar bite, one for each of us, beat that. He sent to our table a garlic ricotta mousse ravioli with pesto (truffle?), wilted greens, roasted red peppers, and a perfectly poached egg. We almost stopped here and asked for repeats. I was outta my mind. I was not worthy.
Thank you Dallas and TSM. We loved it, we loved it, we loved it.
