Fliers on windows explain everything. Three week remodel, if I am remembering the details correctly.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

Yeah, Anthony posted here, or sent me a release that I posted. It's finishing up their expansion into part of the space that Ear X-tacy vacated. Should be awesome.

I don't know if anyone got a chance to see the new lounge, bathrooms and private dining area before the temporary shutdown, but they are a thing of beauty. Anyone who's eaten at Seviche knows how bad their bathrooms were, always a line and in pretty bad shape. I can only speak of the men's room but I hear the women's is even nicer. Dark stained wood stalls, hand hammered hinges and hardware, halogen recessed lighting and contemporary vanities. As someone who renovates houses, I always notice these things and was highly impressed at the craftsmanship. The lounge looks like a picture out of a design magazine, deep chocolate walls, dark leather couches paired with oversized upholstered chairs, and a long accent wall done in button tucked fabric. One look at it and I pretty much decided right then and there on where to have my rehearsal dinner
As a side note I am really happy/proud (As a Louisvillian and a self employed businessman) for what Anthony has done. The trials and tribulations of Jicama, the obvious blow he took having to shut down his Goose Creek location. He has not only persevered but is thriving both in the Louisville dining scene and nationally. The chips have been stacked against him many times, and I know that many would have just thrown in the towel, but he a has seemingly rose out of the ashes like a Phoenix. The dedication to not only get through all of that, but to be constantly reinventing himself from a culinary standpoint is admirable. That to me truely embodies the American dream and spirit. To 86 his bread and butter dish (Macadamian Nut Crusted Sea Bass) because of environmental concerns takes some huevos. Props.....

Thank you all for your support!
Brian! Thank you so much for the kind words. I always tell my boys that sometimes you have to fall down to get up! Everything happens for a reason and sometimes it's not what we have planned. I came to Louisville for my oldest son Nicolas. His mother and I were very young and didn't really know eachother. We decided marriage was not for us. I grew up without a father and I told myself I wouldn't do that to Nicolas. I moved here with one suit case! I walked to work for my first few years and pulled Nicolas in a wagon to the grocery. I would load up and he would be lost in between the groceries. To this day some of the guest remind me of those days, saying how they would see me up and down Bardstown Rd. Pulling my son everywhere. Who would've known several years later I would have a restaurant on this very same road. I am very grateful for where I am today and I always remind myself, where I came from. Louisville gave this oppurtunity to express myself as a Chef. I think everything just fell in place. I met my wife when Nicolas was 5 and we now have been married for 12 years and have two boys together. So I have three boys, Nicolas Anthony 18, Ethan Diego 7, and Ian Cruz 2. Nicolas lives with us full time and he is no different to my wife then the other two boys. It's my family that motivates me! I feel truly blessed! My wife is my back bone! She has been with me through
the ups and downs.I owe it to the community for the support. It's because of you all, that this renovation is possible (and of course my awesome partners) I'm doing this renovation for all of you! I want my guest to feel extra special! Our food has always been attractive to our guest, but now the ambiance will be just as special. I am truly grateful to all of you! I know that people out there want to hate on me and I have this reputation as an @&$?@"! But people that know me, know the real Anthony Lamas! As Dwight Yoakam said in his song "Streets of Bakersfield" (where I was raised too) "you don't know me if you don't like me" I love what I do and it's my passion in life! It's my labor of love! It's all I know! But again I owe it to all of you who have supported my restaurant! It's because of you that this is possible. I recently filmed a show and pointed to the camera and said " Louisville thank you!" I will never forget where my new home is! I do miss California and want to move back someday, but I will never forget how supportive Louisville has been to me as a Chef! I love you Louisville!
Again, thank you!
PS we hope to be re open around June 25-27
We will have a friends and family pre opening, so Brian, Robin and all our friends at Seviche, you are all invited.

theres a special place in my heart for those that play hard just for the love of the game.
Anthony Lamas is one of those guys, who also has an ernormous amount of talent, soul, and ability to elevate those around him on many levels.

Thank you for all your hard work, Chef! And thanks for giving so much of yourself to us as diners and to us as a city!

Can't wait to see the new remodel, and to fill up on another seviche tasting. Thanks Anthony, and I hope that you stay in Louisville for many, many years!

I teared up reading this thread. I'm such a sap! Seviche is one of the jewels in Louisville's dining crown, and they make us proud. I am so excited to see what the renovation has done to the place, and to enjoy some of that stellar food again. There's nothing else like it - lots of great restaurants in town, but Seviche is in the "Unique" category. That's my grouping of restaurants that are making food unlike anything else you can get in town - or most other towns, for that matter.
