Congrats to Ryan and Zanzabar!

by Deb Hall » Thu Jun 02, 2011 10:42 am

All,

C-J gave the food at Zanzabar and Ryan a great review ( kind of like my own here several weeks back, right before Marty visited.... ).

I was only just able to retrieve the review- they didn't post it on-line on the print date. ( Robin, hope you don;'t mind me posting the link. I thought since it was Ryan it would be okay.)

Congrats, Ryan - the praise for you and your team is very well-deserved!

That came out so much better than I could have ever hoped; it's fantastic.

Thank you all for the congratulations, the crew over there and I greatly appreciate it,.

What Matt said. :D
Seriously folks, if you feel your not "hipster" enough to enter the Z-bar, you should really lose that notion and go and eat some damn fine vittles. Ryan and crew are really putting out the good stuff!

Also agreed. Ryan is doing great work in the kitchen, and the review is well-deserved.

Zbar is for everyone! If you don't love good-natured crowds and live music, come earlier in the evening. Don't let anything keep you away from the food and folks there.

Anyone been to Zanzabar since the chef change?

We have an event tonight at Manual High School and are looking for something nearby for dinner. Menu looks like a very different menu than when we visited last.

Thanks-Doug

I just realized I haven't been to lunch there since Ryan moved on to Anchorage Cafe. I have some new places in my lunch rotation close to NSC and others when I'm out on deliveries scattered around the county.

Doug,

My understanding was that there would be a new menu, and it was going a different direction than the creative things I loved in their Specials menu. Sorry, haven't been back to check it out.

If you want great, creative food, make the trip out to Anchorage Cafe for small plates Thurs-Sat- we've loved everything we've had. Ryan & Andy are really doing great things there.

Anchorage Cafe is on our list, but not in the stars tonight with an event at Manual High School.

Thanks for heads up,

Doug
