Louisville’s Urban Bourbon Trail Expands
New passport booklets now available.

The success of the Urban Bourbon Trail has led the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau to expand the program adding five establishments to the three year-old tourism experience. Newly designed passports have been delivered to each stop just in time for the program’s 3rd Anniversary on Memorial Day, May 30.

The new stops are Asiatique, Buck’s, Corbett’s: an American place, Equus & Jack’s Lounge and Ramsi’s Café on the World.

Asiatique
1767 Bardstown Rd. (40205)
502-451-2749
www.asiatiquerestaurant.com
Nestled in the city’s original restaurant row, Asiatique offers a bourbon experience with a unique eastern flair. Asiatique offers a Pacific Rim-style twist on the state’s signature drink. Backlit bourbon bottles greet you upon entry — part of a contemporary minimalist zen design.

Buck’s
425 W. Ormsby (40203)
502-637-5284
www.buckslou.com
Set in amongst the stately Victorian mansions, Buck’s, in the old Mayflower Hotel, blends Old Louisville neighborhood’s charms and comforts. Be one with the bourbon at the only bar adorned with bottles within arm’s reach.

Corbett’s: an American place
5050 Norton Healthcare Blvd. (40241)
502-327-5058
www.corbettsrestaurant.com
It’s well worth the drive to Louisville’s east end for Corbett’s – named by Esquire as one of the best new restaurants. Set in an elegant 150-year old farmhouse, imagine yourself sipping bourbon on the wrap-around porch.

Equus & Jack’s Lounge
122 Sears Ave. (40207)
502-897-9721
www.equusrestaurant.com
A short trot to St. Matthews will reward you with the culinary cocktail creations of legendary bartender Joy Perrine. She wrote the book. Literally. The Kentucky Bourbon Cocktail Book. Taking a cue from its name, the equestrian theme adds to the contemporary relaxed atmosphere of this neighborhood bistro.

Ramsi’s Cafe on the World
1293 Bardstown Rd. (40204)
502-451-0700
www.ramsiscafe.com
Son of the only female liquor store owner in Jerusalem, Ramsi brings his international perspective and world flavors to Bourbon Country. In the heart of the historic Highlands neighborhood, Ramsi’s boasts an eclectic mixture of nearly every variety of food imaginable with more than 100 dishes.

Open to all residents and visitors age 21 and older, the Urban Bourbon Trail Passport program allows individuals to collect unique stamps from the participating stops and be rewarded with a special gift.

There are three ways to collect stamps - pick up a Pass¬port at the Visitors Center (4th and Jefferson Streets in downtown Louisville), download the iPhone app or play the SCVGR game. No matter which method is chosen, the participant earns the rank of official Bourbon Country Citizen and is awarded a special Urban Bourbon Trailblazer t-shirt and official Citizen of Bourbon Country certificate. The program is free, and Trailblazers are encouraged to take their time enjoying Bourbon responsibly. The pace is entirely up to the participant as there is no time frame for completing the Passport.

Within the newly expanded 84-page Passport, each location is identified on a map with its address, hours of operation, a short description and a suggested cocktail, along with space for notes. The booklet also includes instructions on how to use the Passport, and pointers on how to taste bourbon like an expert. There is also a map and guide to the Kentucky distilleries that offer public tours.

Passports can be picked up at any of the stops on the Urban Bourbon Trail or at the Louisville Visitors Center, located at 301 S. Fourth St. Visitors at the Center can explore an introductory exhibit of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® and purchase Bourbon Country merchandise, including the popular “Just Add Bourbon” line. The new stops join nine other bars and restaurants that are committed to the culture and heritage of bourbon: The Bar at BLU in the Louisville Marriott Downtown, Baxter Station Bar & Grill, Bourbons Bistro, The Brown Hotel Lobby Bar, Jockey Silks Bourbon Bar & Lounge in the Galt House, Maker’s Mark Bourbon House & Lounge, The Old Seelbach Bar, Proof on Main and Z’s Fusion.
