by Robin Garr » Wed May 18, 2011 3:13 pm

The Court of Master Sommeliers will offer a Level II: Certified Sommelier Examination on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the downtown Bristol Bar and Grille.

Bristol Bar and Grille beverage director Scott Harper will join fellow Master Sommeliers Brett Davis and Matt Citruglia to present the exam, which will consist of three segments: a blind tasting of two wines, a written theory examination and a practical service examination.

The exam is open only to those who by that time have completed the Level I Introductory Sommelier Course and Exam. The cost is $295. To register, visit

Certainly service, tradition, knowledge, and experience come into play - however, I wish they had a certification for "Master Wine Drinker" - I might be able to handle that.
