Country Ham Ice Cream at Zanzabar- Oh My!

by Deb Hall » Thu May 12, 2011 12:09 am

All,

Matt F.tipped me off to a Kentucky Trio of ice creams currently on the specials menu at Zanzabar ( Matt- I owe you a great big "thank you"! ) Brian and I have been meaning to go since the Ryan blew me away with his version of chowder at the Seafood Chowder Throwdown. It was our anniversary yesterday so we decided to stop by Zanzabar for dessert after our white tablecloth dinner. So glad we did! The ice cream was the highlight of our evening!

The Kentucky Trio is three small scoops of house-made ice cream: Mint julep, bourbon ball with chocolate shell, and country ham with smoked sea salt. The first two were very good, and the Country Ham ice cream was phenomenal! The dish was a perfect mixture of sweet, savory, salty- and it's only $5. We were very impressed. Now we are anxious to make it back in for dinner- the menu looks fantastic and very well-priced. And if my previous two experiences with Ryan's food are any indication- I expect some fantastic and interesting food.

after having tried it myself, i felt it my civic duty to get the word out so folks cold try it while it was still available.
Happy Anniversary to you !

Thanks, Matt.

I'll be watching your recommends from now on- Zanzabar's may turn into one of my new favorite places. We are not late night band people  , so it probably would not have been back on my radar screen without your rave reviews.
:D
