Strawberry Spinach Salad - Where to find it?

by Laura SS » Mon May 09, 2011 6:07 pm

So I know exactly what I want for dinner. Have wanted it for days. A spinach salad with strawberries, goat cheese, walnuts or pecans, maybe some chicken, probably balsamic vinaigrette ... you get the idea.

Yet try as I might, just can't find it! I want a really good one, nicer than I would make at home, maybe even some yummy surprise ingredients.

Who can hook me up?

This is a spinach salad, but the salad just posted on Facebook for this evening, comes mighty close:
Browning's Brewery
Just got of the phone with our man Bill in the kitchen and he is pleased to be serving a Bibb Salad with Strawberries,Goat Cheese, Toasted Almonds in a Balsmatic Vinaigrette. Then he is Pan Searing a flaky Filet of Halibut with Socatash, Asparagus in Brown Butter and then he will finish with a velvety Mixed Berry Tart. Now thats doing some kind of cooking!

You hit the nail on the head with that one, Annemarie. Unfortunatley, Toast is closed on Mondays and on other days closes at 3 p.m., I believe.

Equus/Jack's does a bibb salad with strawberries but they would be happy to put it on spinach insted. The spinach salad has eveything you are asking for and you can also add chicken to it.

Thanks you guys -- those all sound great! Now I'll just have to make some tasty trips.

I created a salad for Mozz when I was there that would be right up your alley. A spin on an Italian three bitter greens salad with a strawberry vincotto agrodolce, fresh strawberries, candied almonds, and sapori d'italia pepe Nero (Italian black pepper goat cheese)...
I believe it's still on the Mozz bar menu and if they're following my recipe it should be delicious. Best of luck
