Naked Pizza?

by Mike L » Thu May 05, 2011 8:15 pm

We received a flyer in the mail from them today. I'm not sure what to think of the concept of "healthy pizza".

Has anyone tried this place? Any opinions?

When I'm thinking pizza, I have no room in my heart (or mind) for prebiotic agave fiber or probiotics.

Please think more about the quality of the meat (the taste of the sausage, the tang of the pepperoni, and the flavor of the meatballs) The freshness of the vegetables (local when possible please!) and the quality of the cheese. (please only use real mozzarella...fresh is best!)

I'm not eating a pizza to help my digestive health, or to build stronger bones. Weight management and my body's glycemic response is far from my mind when I'm getting ready to order a pizza.

Give me Chigago style, New York, una, or coal fired. Make 'em oooey, goooey, and don't hold back on the toppings! (oh, and I'll take extra cheese with that!)

We tried it. It was good, but not memorable. Reminded me of sort of a better quality papa johns.

If you're an absolute health freak who likes pizza but won't eat it because of all the empty calories, it might be a good choice. At least you're getting whole grains and probiotics in the crust. Still, too many calories to be considered a health food by any measure. If you're going to indulge, might as well go all out.

I like it- and if you just want a simple cheese pizza, the price is right- $7.99 for a large, ready quickly.

As a healthier alternative to what most of us consider to be pizza, I don't think it's bad at all. I have used them quite a bit for catering pizza parties throughout the school district and I will say that their customer service is second to none.
I started using them exclusively when one of the locally based national pizza conglomerates had a hard time providing what would I consider to be normal requests. Things like orders showing up on time. Sometimes they didn't show up at all. After dealing with several angry principals that had 400-500 hungry parents and students to feed because of the lack of service from said pizza chain, I sought out an alternative. We have had nothing but wonderful service from Naked Pizza since. Considering they only have the one location and are willing to deliver my very large orders throughout the county, that says a lot to me.

Had it several times at business luncheons. Cardboard crust comes to mind, tasteless toppings and it's always cold by the time we get it. Not a fan. Although....I would probably choose it over some of the FOTB BBQ I have had recently. :P

I actually like them a lot. However, I'm not a fan of the deep dish ooey gooey. I find their sauce and crust to be quite good, tasty and not too filling and never a layer of orange fat in the box. Delivery is fast, but I'm close. They are my #1 option for delivery now. They would not be my first choice for go to or pick up, that honor goes to Coal's (which has many superb items on the menu as well). Oops, I forgot Cafe Lou Lou. They do a nice pie as well, and very tasty Calzones.
