India Palace

by James Natsis » Fri Sep 07, 2007 12:36 pm

My wife and I have been going to the India Palace buffet since it occupied the now Queen of Sheba location on Bardstown Rd (it is presently located on Hurstbourne near Shelbyville Rd). I've always liked it but it seems to have even improved with time. I've been there each week over the past month and have enjoyed the better attention to details (e.g. homegrown tomatoes, quality ice cream, etc) and the wide variety of food on the buffet. On top of that they offer a $2.00 off coupon in Velocity. What a quality lunch for less than $10, tip and drink included (with coupon).

Jim, I agree 100 percent. Although I like Shalimar also, I consistently find India Palace more to my liking for the buffet. India Palace seems to do a better job of keeping the pans filled and fresh, and generally offers a broader choice, particularly for vegetarian options, and service seems to be more friendly and welcoming.

India Palace is my all time FAV when it comes to the buffet at lunch. I wish they would do one for dinner as well, I think they'd see a great increase in business.

I wonder if there will be a difference, if any, between Kashmir and Royal? I guess we shall find out in a month.

I'm going with "I doubt it."

but, hey, the St. Matthews folks need their Indian buffet, too, I guess.

my last trip to Kashmir was actually BETTER than my most recent trip to Shalimar's buffet.

which was totally unexpected and totally cool.

a co-worker of mine just went to India Palace today and had NO complaints.
