NamNam Cafe

There's now a sign on the old Simply Thai building on Wallace Avenue that says NamNam Cafe will be opening "soon." The sign also lists a web site, http://www.namnamcafe.com, that includes an interesting-looking menu. It doesn't look like they've done much work yet inside the building, though.

we were by there last night and noticed the sign, and a lady working in the doorway sweeping out the interior. Given the record of long, slow approval processes all through the St. Matthews area recently, maybe they finally figured out that the restaurant inspector's hand was out for more than just shaking?

Wow!...They got Banh Mi on the menu...Love those tasty Vietnamese sandwiches on French baguettes...and the fact that lemongrass chicken is offered as a sandwich choice is even better news...Hmm...I wonder if they will be making Vietnamese iced coffees with Cafe Du Monde coffee...This place can't open soon enough!

I sent an Email to the address on the Website and got back a reply that they're having a soft opening this week! I expect anyone who's sincerely interested and Emails them will get an invitation. :)
