I just realized that I neglected to post after the mini-forum offline the other day that a new chef has joined the kitchen at Wild Ginger, and - probably since they knew our group was from HotBytes - they gave us some samples of dishes he'll be adding to the menu.
Chef Huang has a Sichuan background, apparently, and several of the dishes we tried - Chicken in chili oil and chili chicken, in particular, were amazing in their mix of complex aromas and flavors and fire. As they work on the menu, this good new place looks like it's going to get even better, not that it was so shabby from the start.
