Interesting Oaks box lunches?

by Deb Hall » Wed Apr 06, 2011 3:29 pm

All,

Looking for something more that just a standard sandwich. I used to go to this great gourmet take-out place on South English Station Road, but unfortunately it is no more....

Seriously, I'm looking for some recommendations. Cheddar Box has been suggested but I was hoping for something more interesting. We really need it be be a pick-up (or delivery) on the far East End ( our office is at Gene Snyder and Old Henry) as we are entertaining Korean clients the day before.

Any ideas from this knowledgeable group?

There is an article in the latest issue of Her Scene (it came out Sunday, with the paper I believe) about unique Derby/Oaks boxed lunches, called Out-of-the-Box Lunches.

It included Fleur-de-Lis Cafe, Saffron's, Lotsa Pasta, and us (Sweet Surrender) for a dessert box.

The magazine is available online as a pdf here: http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/53eb896d#/53eb896d/1. The article is on pages 83, 170, and 171, if you want to take a look at it.

I know that Burger's Market also does a very nice boxed lunch. (Scroll up) http://www.burgersmarketlouisville.com/whats-new/2010/4/21/derby-box-lunches.html#comments

Catherine,
it'll be for mostly non-Foodies so I need to show some restraint.
