Westport General Store Re-opening April 15

by Will Crawford » Sat Apr 02, 2011 11:05 am

We have emerged from our hibernation rejuvenated and ready to roll.

We are extremely excited that Chef Dave Clancy will be returning to the kitchen. We have been trying to make this happen for a few years and now that he has the kitchen rolling at NA Exchange he is able to split his time between the two places.
New hours Thursday- Saturday 5pm -10pm
We expect to have music on Friday and Saturday nights.

Our menu will have all the same favorites but we are adding some new comfort food items.
More to follow.

We will be working with some local farmers and guest chefs to have some special farm to table dinners on Monday- Wed. nights. These will be announced as we work out the logistics.
Hope to see you at Westport General Store.

Best of luck Will. Thanks again for all your help and letting us use some equipment to get us up and running. I will definitely check it out!

I would love to visit your place! How far are you from Middletown?

Madeline, I'm going to guess that Will is wacthing THE game.

I'm guessing about 45 minutes from Middletown to Westport.

I'm happy to hear this, but am wondering how this is going to work. I remember hearing how the kitchen at NA Exchange is set up for a one man band. So on the nights Chef Clancy is at Westport, what's going on in New Albany?

...I was wondering that same thing? I'm in NA Mon/Tues/Wed doing production and line and Ian's most excellent sister Rachael heads up the line on Thur/Fri/Sat. I will be on call during the day for lunches and then race to Westport on my bad motor scooter for Willie. He's payin for the gas...

We have been running with this current schedule for the past 6 weeks at The NA Exchange and it is working out well. Chef Clancy is in the kitchen Tuesday and Wednesday nights and Rachel Hall, an up and coming young chef has taken the reigns in the BOH, with the training and guidance from Chef Clancy. Chef Clancy will continue to serve as a consultant to The NA Exchange on a regular basis. That was the plan from day one, to get up and running and then allow Dave to work on multiple projects. We will continue to produce the same great experience that you have come to know at The NA Exchange. Look for our Spring/Summer menu to be rolling out in the next few weeks as well. Hope to see you soon.
