I've been in there at 9ish or so and their seems to be a wide variety of people in there. I think you'll definately get the vibe you're looking for...although it's been a while since I've been there on a Friday night.
For late night, upscale, "sophisticated" dining 732 Social is a favorite among my 30-something friends. Their "no reservations" policy seems to send the uh...."more experienced diners" (Q-tips) running for Majids.

Grab a barstool order some cocktails and small plates and you'll be good to go. I've never really had to wait, but the place is always full. Another big plus: I feel perfectly comfortable entertaining guests there later at night (after 9) any night of the week (at least the nights i've been there). You've probably noticed from the posts of some of the servers on this board that not all places are so welcoming.
Side note: Ironically, the word on the street is that the Social bartender(s) recently jumped ship for Mozz. I can verify this is true for at least one them. This may explain why my drink didn't have their signature ice ball in it on my last visit. I just had to ask about it and my server tried to explain that they only put the ice ball in premium cocktails and that this has always been the policy. This is not the case based on my experience and unless there are women dancing on the tables I would consider a $12 bourbon a premium drink anyway. Just sayin'. OTOH, I'm sure they'd give me one if I requested it so no big whoop.
