This moprning's update:

It is 6:25 am CST and they have just taken Christina down to surgery. It should begin at 7:00 am.

They said there was a delay in harvesting some other organs. I will keep you updated as news comes.

Our miracle is happening as I type.

This is LInda's detiled 7:18 ET report:

Our miracle is complete this afternoon!!
Christina is out of surgery and did wonderfully. Surgery lasted about 6-6 1/2 hours. When I spoke to the surgeon he said the lungs were wonderful candidates. She is back in the surgical ICU room for the next couple of days. Hopefully tomorrow they will try to take her off the ventilator and let her breathe on her own.
She is taking a few breaths on her own right now with the ventilator backing her up. She looks strong and peaceful and has been sound asleep. Craig, Jeff, Mark & I spent the night with her last night and were with her until now. Craig had to go home and back to work but he fulfilled one of Christina's wishes...for her whole family to be with her when she went into surgery and when she woke up. And we did that.

Thank you everyone for your love, support, prayers throughout this journey! You kept us feeling encouraged on some of those days you just want to pull the covers over your head. And kept us feeling loved on the other days.

She is a vibrant and cheerful young lady. Best wishes on a speedy and uncomplicated recovery. All too well I recall the first time around with this surgery.

Our thoughts are with her and her family!
