It's that time of year again!

With today being Fat Tuesday fish fries can't be far behind. I thought I would start the topic for this year with the list from the local Diocese for the catholic churchs although I know there are many others. We personally enjoy the one at Saint Patrick's even though we are not catholic.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 2822 Frankfort Ave. (about halfway between Porcini and Blue Dog) will have fish fries on Fridays during Lent, starting this Friday. I don't have exact hours and prices, but last year it was good and affordable. I'll add more specifics to this post as soon as I can get them.

The American Legion on Bardstown road hosts fish frys every other friday.(Next one being the 18th) I volunteer my services in the kitchen. Donnie makes good mac & cheese, green beans, and we have b p's, but his cole slaw is top notch!! I cook the fish and "doctor" up a commercial clam chowder that is pretty good. The ladies auxillary has fresh baked desserts too! We have sodas. wine, and beer. The price is reasonable and you can support our veterans at the same time!!! :D :D
