Pizza Guy gone...

Pizza Guy in Lyndon (in the strip mall that houses Mi Patria and La Columbiana) is gone. Sign down, being gutted...anyone know if maybe they moved somewhere? Their thin crust roasted garlic pizza was awesome...

I could never figure out how they lasted as long as they did. Their product wasn't bad but given the competition and the fact that the place always looked empty, I expected them to fold years ago.

I think the recent expansion of Little Caesar's was probably the final nail in the coffin for them. Their pizzas were decent what really sold them was cost. Little Caesar's beats them in that category so they really didn't have a niche in Louisville's pizza market!

From what I heard, Pizza by the Guy closed down over 3 weeks ago, but another pizza place will be opening in the same location. I met a guy a few weeks ago who said he is taking over the spot and will open sometime this summer - pizza and sandwiches, maybe some other items.

We used to eat the original Pizza Guy when they were located on Wallace in St. Matthews but I'm not sure the Lyndon location were owned by the same guys ? The place was originally owned by a bunch of Triinity High School guys and the pizzas were very good ? We tried the Lyndon location once and it didn't taste like the original so we stopped going there. Glad to see Little Caeser's opened a new spot on lower Brownsboro. Their pizzas are good, cheap and quick.

You are right Mark. My son played little league with one of the owners son back in the late 90's. The pizza was really good at that time.
