Ri Ra Irish Pub - Anyone tried?

by Amy Smalley » Mon Mar 07, 2011 1:23 pm

Has anyone tried Ri Ra on 4th Street? I have been curious about it hadn't heard much about it on here. I love Irish Rover but wanted to expand my Irish horizons a bit:)

I can attest that the fish and chips are good...but Rover is better....and it is a bit more pricey than the rover.....just my humble opinion.

I work nearby and have been for lunch. It's alright, but the Rover is way better, and is local. If you want something other than the Rover, try one of the local Irish pubs (Molly Malone's, O'Shea's, etc.). The food at the Rover beats those places, but I'd put RiRa's food and the local pubs' food at about the same level.

I've only had coffee and dessert there, but that was quite good. And it's lovely.

I've been to a Ri Ra - in Portland, Maine. They have 12 stores in the U.S. From what I remember, their claim to fame is that they disassemble pubs in Ireland, refurbish and ship them here. Real eye candy if you're into woodworking.

The food there is standard pub grub, done up better by the locals, in my opinion. Their beer selection is pretty pedestrian as well.

One thing I find a bit curious is the wikipedia entry that comes up when you google up RIRA.
