Looking For Local Pork Farmers

by Allan R » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:42 pm

Can anyone out there give me some info on where to find local pork farmers. We use Berkshire pork right now but I would like to switch to local pork if I can find a farmer(s)to keep up with our needs. We mainly use bellies and butt / shoulder cuts. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Allan, Stan and Leila Gentle's Dreamcatcher Farm produces great pork - they're usually at the Bardstown Road Farmers' Market on Saturdays. Ditto Stonecross Farm from Spencer County, which also shows up at BRFM at least during warm weather - I don't know if they're part of the winter crowd.

Just don't buy so much of their pork that they don't have any left for us!

Allan,

Dreamcatchers and Fiedler's are at the BRFM in the winter. All three are excellent choices ( and great family operations).
