Stopped at Majiid's the other night and they said Stephen D was no longer with them. That was a short stay. Any clues if he is working somewhere else?

If you want to know, send him a PM. He's an active forum member.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.

Meeting Steve and Becky P not withstanding :D , Stephen was certainly the highlight of our dinner at Majid's a few weeks ago. I'm not sure Majid's will be in our rotation without Stephen's presence.

No worries, friends and please don't take Majid's off your rotation due to my absence. I trained them well and am being replaced by Kerry Shepard, one of the finest sommeliers in the city. A true class act.

I should say that the parting was cordial and I have been given the full support and resources of the restaurant and Majid. It was a question of style. I am a bartender given to cocktails, flare and the entertainment of the craft. Majid is a soft-spoken, old-school hospitality guy that favors wine. As much as I could try to become that person, I am known for something altoghether different.

Restaurants are like marriages. Two great people can enter into the arrangement and find that they simply don't mesh. Nobody is at fault- it simply is.

This place is still like a home to me and I wish them all the success they are due.

Indeed, I will still represent Majid's at the throwdown- our solidarity is that strong.

I am currently in talks with some exciting concepts that have the potential to fully embrace my skill-set- it's an exciting time!

So keep tuned, I'll be back in the saddle quite soon, I feel.
