Oh they are for real in Maine at least and probably the coast line in New Hampshire. Used to make me laugh to see their signs read lobster rolls are back. Never had them never need to. Best to get a great lobster roll at the co-ops with big chunks of meat from the tail and claws. Reds in Wiscassett, used to serve lobster rolls with drawn butter. Just dunk the sandwich like a New England version of the French dip. Or Shaws in New Harbor...sitting on the deck overlooking the harbor. Boats coming and going, their daily catch go right into the holding tanks of the restaurant. On a warm day you catch a cool breeze and order another cold draft. Sometimes I miss Maine. But then I look out the window and the daffodils are already coming up. and I am ready to put the parkas away...and it's only the beginning of March. I really like Louisville.
