Istanbul Cafe Has Closed Bardstown Road Location

by B. Morris » Thu Mar 03, 2011 1:25 pm

The owner of Istanbul Palace (on Goose Creek Rd. just north of Westport Road) closed the smaller Bardstown Road location, known as Istanbul Cafe, this past week.

He told me he wanted to concentrate his time and energy on his main restaurant--the Istanbul Palace.

Most of the Cafe's Turkish offerings, such as the sandwiches & gyros, dips and salads, will still be available at the Palace, which has a much more extensive menu. But I'm afraid some of the Cafe's bakery specialties like the "pita-pizzas" won't be making the transition. Sure will miss the Turkish pizza.

That was fast, as have been everything that's been there lately. Another "cursed" location?
