Wine Tastings

by BryanEder » Tue Aug 28, 2007 12:07 pm

I'm a manager at J. Alexander's and we have recently started a wine tasting on Tuesday nights. What we are doing is taking a winery from California (for an entire month) and giving tastings of some of their wines. I think this is a wonderful opportunity to get to try some new wines that maybe few know about. Price is $20 per person and it comes with appetizers and of course the wine. I'm curious to see how people react to this and would love thoughts on how to improve it along, with ideas on future wineries. The time starts at 5 pm and goes until we close 10 pm. I know towards the colder months I would like to start seeing maybe a port and sherry tasting. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

Wine tastings are great, but to really enjoy ine tastings they should be paired with food. You might consider featuring a winery with pairings for a month. With the DUI laws the way they are it limits what the consumers are willing or able to consume>
You may want to get the winery involved>
You might also consider smaller wine portions to allow for a broader spectrum to taste
