Oak Eve Bash 2011
Racing To Help Children
Please join Barry Wooley on Thursday, May 5, from 7:30 pm -12:30 am to celebrate the annual Oaks Eve Bash to benefit The Dream Factory, Blessings In a Backpack, and Racing for Corey. The event is brought to you by The Good Guy Network, a philanthropic organization created to raise money and highlight the great work of a variety of charitable organizations. This year's event will be hosted at the Medallion Ballroom at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel.
Music and entertainment will be provided by the Atlanta Allstars Band, an absolute, out of this world dance band, with an outstanding cast of superb musicians and vocalists. The Atlanta Allstars will ignite the evening with a blend of Motown, R&B, classic jazz and swing.
Guests will be treated to Classic American cuisine while delighting in the display of unique and exotic cars. The expanded silent auction will include a NASCAR racing package, vacation experiences, original artwork and more. The event will also include special celebrity guests to mingle and party the night away.
The Dream Factory is a Kentucky-based organization that grants wishes for critically, chronically and seriously ill children. Over a thousand dreams have been granted in Louisville and 25,000 nationally over the last 25 years. It is the second largest wish-granting organization in the nation with 38 chapters. The Dream Factory operates almost exclusively through volunteers with all proceeds staying within the community.
Blessings In A Backpack offers impoverished children easy-to-prepare, ready-to-eat meals for the weekend. In Kentucky, 22 schools have been adopted, feeding nearly 3,000 children.
Racing for Corey is a program designed to bring together the sport of auto racing and kids diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, in hopes of inspiring them to stay strong and to hold on to their dreams. The program was founded in the memory of Corey Hanchar, a 9-year-old member of the Indiana Children's Wish Fund who passed away from cancer just after realizing his dream of being a racecar driver.
Tickets for the event are $100 per person. To reserve tickets, please call 502.292.8886 or contact Barry Wooley at
