Chicken and Waffles

Where can a person find Chicken and Waffles around here? I saw Hammerheads has a version on their menu, but are they the lone source these days?

Tony Williams family had Twiams on 18th Street for a while, but they closed, alas. There might be a neighborhood joint serving it in the West End, but alas, it's not currently on my radar.

I do a fried chicken and funnel cake at zanzabar sometimes as a special, but for the sure bet check out the one at hammerheads. I've had it and it's great, as is just about everything on their menu.

Didn't Avalon have it on their small plates menu? (or lunch menu?)

That funky place that stays open all night at Bardstown Road and Bonnycastle had it on their menu. I won't eat there after they asked to hold my driver's licence to sit outside at a table.

The waffle portion of the "Chicken and Waffles" at Hammerheads is sweet-potato based and is absolutely mind-blowing. I didn't even get to the syrup because I was so obsessed with the taste of the waffle on its own.

Dish on Market has Chicken and Waffles on our brunch menu which is served Saturday and Sunday from 9am - 2pm.

I can't wait to try Hammerheads. I've heard great things!

Edward Lee, chef/restaurateur at 610 Magnolia, is featured in the March issue of Esquire magazine. His variation on chicken-and-waffles was the top recipe in the magazine’s “Eat Like a Man — Huge Foods” centerpiece spread.
