Where do you go with a group of four couples to celebrate?

by Gina-Schmitz » Sat Aug 25, 2007 1:42 am

It has been a while since I have visited here - but I am looking for a place to have a great celebratory dinner that will work well with a group - maybe a place that is also close to somewhere to grab an after dinner cocktail ... This is for a 30th birthday dinner. Any suggestions?

How about the chef's table at the English Grill in the Brown Hotel

You are welcome to join us for dinner and there are quite a few places to have a cocktail as well (Speakeasy/Connors etc.) or you can always go to Ceasars and have them rifle through your wallet. We would love to have you here!

We just had my wife's birthday at Buco di Bepo and had a great time. The family style works well with bigger groups. There were eight of us as well - ordered 3 appetizers and 3 entrees and had food left over.

I think Palermo is a great place to go in groups. It is comfortable and casual, but still very hip and fun. The food is always consistently good and the service is top notch. Plus, you'll be right on Bardstown Road and can go to any number of places afterwards for cocktails.

Also, Asiatique is a fun place to go in a group. Their lounge is nice, so you guys could stay after dinner and have cocktails in the lounge.

I agree with Amy- Palermo would be great. Try every appetizer....and the filet and fries!

Other choices-
Nios, Club Grotto, Volare, Bourbons, Basa, Havana Rumba, or Seviche.

If you go to the homepage of Hotbytes and click on the restaurant list by name, you can learn more about everyone's suggestions.

I don't think you can go wrong eating at Equus, then going next door to Jack's.

Buca is wonderful for large groups, we always try to make it out there, especially with newbies!

BBC is pretty nice for an informal gathering, we used to get together there quite a bit.

Equus, Volare, Porcini's and Limestone Grill would be my suggestions
All have excellent food!
