Bardstown Road Breakfast?

by Ron Taglieri » Sat Feb 05, 2011 9:47 am

Need to run my wife down for an errand this morning and will have some downtime to grab bite by self and read the paper.i

Any place besides Lynn's to try? Love their breakfast but have been there multiple times and want to try something new (basically any other place besides Twig & Leaf).

Thanks

Fleur de lis has breakfast and if they are open on Sundays we really like the Beignet Cafe/Fishhouse on Winter between Bardstown and Baxter. Hub loves their big fat sausages and I love the potato cakes and beignets. They also have great omelets.

The Fish House's Cafe Beignet is a very good choice. If you're as far in as Lynn's, you might go on up and around the corner to Market and eat at Toast. There's probably a line to match Lynn's over there, though.

The Cafe on Brent Street is only a hop, skip & a jump away from Lynn's & we serve breakfast Monday through Saturday from 7AM-4PM. Cafe Beignet is a good choice as well (my wife & I stop in there often).

How about Twig & Leaf? It's a little farther out Bardstown road but you'd be supporting a Louisville classic. Certainly not quite as fancy as the others that were suggested, just some good greasy spoon food.

There is a new breakfast restaurant that is going to be open soon at the former Caspian Cafe on Bardstown Road. This 50 seat location is planning on being open 24/7 and is going to put the emphasis on a breakfast menu. The name is supposed to be Highland Morning and should open in 4 or 5 weeks. Stay tuned for further info.

We also serve breakfast/brunch on the weekends from 10am-3pm. We are inside the Goss Ave Antique Mall where the Cafe used to be except we are on the first floor with over 3000 sq ft. Not to far from Bardstown Road. I saw Sal Rubino the other day and he said that the cafe had stopped serving breakfast on Sundays because they needed a day off. So if you love Saturday and Sunday Brunch and don't want to wait for a hour or more to get a table at some other places come check us out! We don't have a buffet, it's all off the menu. Made to order omletes, breakfast burritos with chorizo sausage, eggs benedict, cooked to order egg plates french toast, fruit blintzes, pancakes, fresh fruit salad, kids menu for 4.00......plus we have a very cozy comfortable dining room....we also serve our lunch menu if you'd rather have that.

I will give forum members 20 % off of their bill for the next week to come check us out. Just mention Louisville hotbytes to your server. This deal will be good today through next Sunday February 13.
