Saturday noonish lunch - with alcohol?

by Jackie R. » Thu Feb 03, 2011 11:29 pm

My BFF tells me that I get to pick the place and I'm beseeching a brainstorm here, please. Looking for a special experience at a place I've never been that serves meals on a Saturday afternoon... with alcohol. Location is not an issue (I may imbibe in a single beverage, not many - promise).

I feel a little silly asking for this advice, because lord knows, I do follow this forum enough to answer my own query - but I thought it might be worth it to ask in case I forget a gem.

Bank Street Brewhouse is always a good choice :D it might be fun for you to be there when we are actually open.

NA Xchange - Chef Clancy is rocking.

Habana Blue - luscious Cuban food and mojitos

Well color me stupid - I didn't realize BSB was open on Saturday afternoon. Done and done. Thanks Dave!

Although it doesn't qualify as "never been before", it was the first place I thought of that I wanted to go to. Just didn't realize you'd be open.

Jackie, David's suggestions are all good, and a trip across the Minton Bridge might make for a great day trip.

If you want to stay closer to the Cloudy Side, though, plenty of options in St. Matthews: BBC, Molly Malone's, Brendan's, Cafe Lou Lou and Havana Rumba all should be able to accommodate your Saturday afternoon food and beverage needs. ;) Farther in Frankfort, North End Cafe or El Mundo.

I'll let someone else take on Bardstown Road, which in my mind is more of a late-night scene, but I'll bet some nice spots with booze are open.

Jackie used to rule the St Matt BBC back in the day.

Lou Lou Highlands (beer) and Avalon would both work in the Highlands.
