Pizza Battle Royale - The Poll Of All Styles.

by MikeG » Thu Feb 03, 2011 10:34 am

Here's where we decide the best of ALL styles and not just between the two monoliths of American styles. I'll probably miss a few styles but this should be most of them.

You forgot frozen pizza...and my favorite...ARTISAN pizza. Kinda like Coals Artisan pizza where $2 will be donated to the Hope Center for each of the first 100 "Stevie P" pies that are sold...named after moi if I have forgotten to mention it previously. :P

I don't want to offend you but I personally hope they're not going to have TVs! I would like it to be a more relaxed pleasant atmosphere.

Mark here; the "other" half... We were told that we HAD to have a TV because of the demographics in Louisville. I had never seen a tv in a sushi bar until I got to Louisville. That convinced us that we had to have one! It will be above the bar, and silent, except for those key moments when all in attendance want to see the big end to the big game. It was a tough call... Comments?

No comments, it was worth a shot. We have one at Bank Street and at the pizzeria.

Personally, I'd love it to see a pizza hall without a TV, but your argument is cogent and your solution appropriate. I most certainly would not ding you a single review point on the basis of a TV setup like that.

I guess part of it depends on what demographic you want to attract. While I do understand many people want to see the big moment in the game, if it's that important to them they will find a place to watch it. On the other hand people that don't really care about it had a hard time finding a place to avoid it. I don't see what you're proposing keeping anyone away however but places that have multiple TVs everywhere I think do run some people off.

One TV above the bar, silent, not a problem. TV's dotted around the restaurant, tilted to every angle and view of a table, it's a sports bar.

TV's aside...I really like the layout of DiOrio's. Small bar on one side (for the grown ups) and a large family friendly dining area on other side.
