Birthday Trifecta!

by Ed Vermillion » Wed Feb 02, 2011 9:30 pm

Horrible dilemma to have......my birthday is Monday and I want a grand slam trifecta of weekend celebration starting Staurday night. Have booked Bourbon Bistro for the finale on Monday.....Majid's on Sunday (only because they are dark on Monday) and...........?????? for Saturday. I thought of 732 Social but have been worried about the noise factor ( I'm essentially deaf in my left ear from fire engine and ambulance sirens for too many years to count). I'm leaning toward Basa for sentimental reasons but wondered if YOU (yeah, you) had some other suggestions. Homegrown only need apply. Thanks!

Go to Social for an early dinner; it doesn't get loud until later. Sit at the bar, watch the magic happen in the kitchen, and see what happens.

Thanks, Justin but I'm going to have my 13 year old man/boy along for the ride and sitting at the bar is a skill best left to learn on ones own.

A 13 year old would probably enjoy Bungalow Joe's, assuming he likes sports. I went for the first time last Saturday and was very impressed with the food, beer, service and prices.

Ed,

I don't know if you have been to Social before, but the bar is not a bar-bar. They are not slinging drinks, but crafting nice cocktails. The two chairs closest to the kitchen really have nothing to do with the bar, other then a bartender will be your server. If your boy is interested in food/cooking it would be an awesome experience. If Jayson is working he'll probably "show" you a thing or two.
