I heard this new Italian frozen yogurt shop opened in Louisville. Seems like most of their locations are in California. I think it is supposed to be like Pinkberry. Has anybody tried it yet?

I'm not familiar with Pinkberry, but I've tried Cé Fiore once, and thought it was okay, but then, I'm more of a carnivore and salty snacks eater than a fruitatarian.

It's a fun concept: Italian-style frozen yogurt (on the tangy side), usually available in two flavors, plain and some fruit flavor, which you can then have topped from a pretty good collection of topping goodies that includes a disproportionate amount of fresh fruit. As I recall, I had a plain topped with kiwis and raspberries that cost about $3.50 (guessing) and was more than enough to suit me.

It was pretty good, but not as good as a bowl of creamy Graeter's in my opinion. The little storefront is pretty but spartan, and the Korean (?) woman working the counter the day I was there was friendly, but at least to my impatient ears, had a bit of a language barrier when it came to explaining the goodies.

I could see me going there occasionally for a cooling sweet snack, but I didn't love it enough to put it on my list of gotta-have-it places.

I think there's another thread about it somewhere on the forum - look for Cé Fiore - I think it's two words.

Okay, more info. Here's a link to the national Website:

http://www.cefiore.com/

Looks like it's almost entirely in the LA basin, as you said, with one shop in Seattle, a couple in Las Vegas ... and one in Louisville. I wonder how that happened!

It does appear to be one word, not two, but the graphics (smaller size "ce" in a different color) makes it hard to be sure.

My wife and I went there a few weeks ago. It was a bit pricy but good. Most of the toppings are fresh fruit so it is a rather healthy alternative to Robin's beloved Graeters (I do like regular ice cream, by the way). I had the green tea which I found to be a delightful treat.

It's on Eastern parkway at Bardstown, shares tables with Qdoba.

I liked the green tea flavor, but hubby is not much on frozen yogurt normally, and did not care for it.

I stopped in last Saturday and ordered a medium with a scoop of kiwi & pineapple. The total was 6.75!!!!!

It was tasty but damn, that's way too much for frozen yogurt out of a machine and two tablespoons of fruit.

I won't be going back.
