early dinner - saturday - sunny side

by Becky M » Tue Feb 01, 2011 3:20 pm

I am turning 30 (again!   ) this saturday and am doing the ole dinner and a movie. Because of baby-sitting we need to have an early dinner, we will be catching Black Swan at 2:30 so dinner about 5 i would think. I am drawing a blank about where to eat..... originally i wanted to eat at Cuba Libre, but that would be a bit hard now......

i was thinking about La Rosita, their menu seems to have grown as well... have they gotten over the new issues people had reported earlier?

Jackie mentioned a new place here in Jeff, but i cannot find her post and i do not remember the name, Cast Iron something?......

any other suggestions?, nothing fancy, its just not my style, neither of us drinks so that is not important either.......... and NO KIDS with us so yay!

Another option in New Albany would be Bank Street Brewhouse. Bank Street

Happy birthday, Becky!

I'm going to sign on with the others who recommend NA Exchange. I haven't been yet, but can't wait ... but Clancy is decidedly NON-intimidating. Give 'em a try, and I don't think you'll be sorry.

Chef Clancy is cool and I'd venture a no-holes barred kind of guy.

It's a gastropub; so it should be a laid back bar atmosphere, only with better food.

Aww - you read my post! And HAPPY 30TH!!!

It is Cast Iron Steakhouse and it's right next door to The Lighthouse across the street from (I believe) the main entrance to Jeff Boat on Market. Refined atmosphere, good steaks, meatloaf, burgers, etc... and really great people. Same owner as Buck's in Old Louisville is taking care of the kitchen, and his wife Susie (who's been in the biz for a long time) runs the FOH. At least a dozen or more family and close friends are running the place. Things like that always warm my soul.

Here's their website:
