St. Baldrick's 2011

by Beth K. » Mon Jan 31, 2011 2:34 pm

Hi Friends!

In an effort to raise money for childhood cancer research, I am shaving my head! Yes, you read that right. The event takes place on March 13, at 4th Street Live, and my goal is to raise $5,000. I would appreciate any support that you would be willing to give; no donation is too small!

To learn more about why I'm doing this, the Foundation itself, and see a "before" picture of me, you can access my personal page here: http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/participantid/421588

I promise to post "after" pictures on my page too, so be sure to check back after the event. The event is public, so feel free to attend and cheer on the shavees! Also, if anyone is interested in joining my team, we would love to have you.

My 16 year old daughter did it last year! She raised over $2000. She looked really cute shaved and now with short hair. She dyed it about 8 colors before they shaved it! Dawne Gee does the announcing, it's really festive and upbeat and a terrific charity. Best of luck.

Thank you, Steve!

Linda, I love it! I've toyed with idea of going hot pink just before, ha, ha!

Also, I wanted to let everyone know that the donation is completely tax deductible, and business/corporate donations are accepted and appreciated. If anyone would like to have their business sponsor me, let me know and we can work something out as far as recognition, etc.
