Places to watch the Super Bowl

by Sarita C » Fri Jan 28, 2011 6:46 pm

My husband usually works that day but this year he is off and BONUS...he's a huge Packer fan.
Any idea where to go? We would love a spot to park ourselves, drink cold beer and enjoy the game with the fans.

Dutch's Tavern is THE local Packer's bar. They don't serve food, though I wouldn't be surpised if they didn't have some sort of potluck thing. I'm sure that it will be ..well PACKED for the big game.   The place hasn't changed much over the years and is still a pretty seedy dive for the neighborhood.

In the same area as Dutch's is DiOrios. Good pizza, two big tv's in the bar, and a decent beer list.

You might be surprised...

...but Volare Ristorante could be the best place in town to watch the big game.

We will have the private dining room rocking with a big screen projector and surround sound!

There will be 1/2 price bottles of wine, small bites, and the full dinner menu available for all guests that night...

Some particular items most appropriate for football viewership:

- Volare wings
- Truffled steak fries
- Flatbread pizzas
- Lamb and beef tenderloin slyders
- Volare's shrimp 'n' grits

We are located at 2300 Frankfort Avenue. For reservations, call (502) 894-4446.

Be creative, put on the green and gold with the cheese head hats and stroll into R Place Pub over off of Whipps Mill Rd.
That is where all the inbred Steeler fans hang out
I am sure you will tap into some intellectual conversations about their golden boy QB

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be thoroughly sure.

Dan is right, Dutch's is the place to be!!!! GO PACK GO But he was wrong about them having food. They have a small menu, but many people bring stuff in and they don't mind. And yes it will be mobbed, get there early. Also a place called beeritaville had a pretty good group of Packer fans last time we were there.

We, Zanzabar, usually have trivia on Sunday nights, but I imagine it will be postponed (or preponed?) for the game. If not expect trivia, the superbowl, a ton of people and some pretty killer food all in one place.
And we'll probably be running some sort of wing special with our extra messy pterodactyl wings.
