I don't believe the Louisville Walgreen's stores have made any obvious moves to get liquor licenses, have they? I remember growing up with beer (and maybe wine and liquor, too?) in drug stores, but Walgreen's nationally discontinued alcohol sales a couple of decades ago.

It was my understanding that the chain's recent decision to resume alcohol was being done regionally at first ... Chicago area and maybe the Northeast. I don't think we'll have any Big Flats beer to kick around here any time soon. ;)

They are advertising it for sale here in Louisville. We drove by a Walgreens last week that was promoting it on their outside sign. ( I think it was the one next to The Vogue). My daughter asked: "Why would anyone want big Flat beers?"...( seriously)

My thoughts exactly.

It looks suspiciously kind of like the old Olympia cans from the 70's

The Walgreens on New Lagrange & Lyndon has it; I haven't tried it.

They also carry "grown up" chocolate milk, which I enjoy.

Costco recently put their craft beer in the Louisville store. Kirkland brand. Around $19/case. BBC beer is sold there too.

Justin,

Stephen turned me on to the Choco Vine last week at Majid's. :D I ran to Liquor Barn to get 2 bottles the following day. Yum!

Thankfully for us in Indiana, the law does not allow for exclusive packages like this for one chain, so we can purchase this beer too! Then I saw a beer with the word flat in the name and wondered what marketing genius came up with that.

Big Ten Inch Flat Tire corn lager from Walgreen's is an absolutely marvelous pairing with any leftover Cracker Barrel fare; in fact, the two cookie-cutter corporations are about to sign a major franchise deal for white tasteless gravy, with innovative souvenir shop aspirin/school paste/powdered mix possibilities. Yummers. 8)

It's funny how they sneak "1901" into the name of the beer to subconsciously imply that this beer has a history. Sadly, many will succumb to yet another marketing scheme, dumbed down to the lowest common denominator. What a nice argument against the philosophy of laissez faire capitalism regulating itself.

Good to know I can get some Depends, Turbo condoms, a box of Russell Stover chocolates, a funny birthday card for my mother-in-law, batteries, a loaf of Bunny Bread, cotton balls, a mini Etch-A-Sketch, a tube of Anusol HC, Tic Tac's, some Sony ear buds, a Chia Pet, a Three Stooges DVD, some Correctol, and a 6-pack of premium "craft" beer all in one easy trip.

Everything you could ever need under one roof!

Wag's is the modern day version of a General Store. And they are EVERYWHERE.
