Little Peace owner now has cafe at Bernheim Forest

by Robin Garr » Tue Aug 21, 2007 11:45 am

This press release isn't very well done, but its content is interesting indeed: The proprietor of the short-lived but appealing Little Peace Cafe at the Melwood Arts Center now operates a cafe in the nearby natural beauty of Bernheim Forest. This sounds like a serious short road-trip option. Note the very odd schedule, too: Open daily except Friday (and Sunday). Wonder what's up with that.

Charming Isaac's Cafe in Bernheim Forest Expands Menu/Catering Services

8/21/07
Rebecca Fulner, Chef/Operator, of Isaac's Cafe, has found her "peace" nestled in the heart of Bernheim Forest. Fulner, former chef/owner of A Little Peace Cafe

in Louisville, took over Isaac's Cafe in April 2007. Since then she has brought her heirloom family recipes to the lush veranda of Isaac's Cafe located in the beautiful, green visitors center at Bernheim. Fulner also offers a full catering service, "A Grand Generation Food Service and Catering", for meetings, weddings and events held there as well as contnuing to serve her catering clients in Louisville and surrounding counties.

Isaac's Cafe offers serenity while being family friendly. Fulner prides herself on good, fresh food and original fresh-baked desserts which vary daily according to her whim and creativity. Lunch options include a delicious grilled Salmon Burger with her special secret sauce, the Saba: turkey with Benedictine and cucumbers, a medley of salads and even a Rueben. There are many vegetarians options, as well as kid specilty items like the PB & J with chocolate covered raisins and a side of fruit, inspired by her own children,

No need to skip one of Fulner's original desserts at Isaac's, bike rentals are conveniently located outside the visitors center to work off the calories and of course Bernheim offers many trails for hiking.

Isaac's Cafe is open Saturday through Thursday 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Closed Fridays).

Reservations are needed for parties of six or more. Call (502) 955-8512, ext.257. (corrected)

Robyn this is such great news! We love going to Bernheim to hike, it feels a bit safer since everyone must drive by and pay or at least show membership at the front gate on weekends. The only drawback was there was no place to eat after a hike - well , except driving into Bardstown.
This is great news! Thanks.
