I would like to offer my public apology to Chef Baker and Gary's on Spring. I was in the unfortunate position this morning of having to inform GM Greg Fearing that due to a lack of effective communication on my part I had excepted too many participants for the Chowder Throw Down.

In a nut shell, after mocking up the layout of the room, Alan H (from CQ) sent me an email and left me a voice mail advising that we would not be able to accommodate the number of entrants originally planned. Somehow I overlooked both the email and the voice mail and subsequently recruited more entrants than the room could effectively and safely accommodate.

This faux pas is 100% my fault and I regret any inconvenience it has caused Gary's on Spring. Once again, my apologies to Chef Baker and everyone at Gary's on Spring.

Don't beat yourself up, Steve - you're already working your rear off to put together an event that all attendees and beneficiaries are grateful for. That said, I'm totally bummed about Chef Harold's absence. Gary's is on the precipice of opening and this restauraunt is "good lawd!". I lurrrrrve it/them. It WILL be notable for all things positive, marketh my sentimenth.

All,

On-line ticketing is going "live" this weekend. Hotbytes will know before general public. Watch Hotbytes for the announcement, and get your tickets quick! The tickets to the Shrimp & Grits Throwdown sold out fast!

Alan, at what point is CQ an island we can't get to? If the river keeps rising, just a thought? :(

Hey Paula,
The crest is coming Monday again with a dry spell also, looking good.
